"We're back to the cool" Sherberts2's photos around Chongqing, China

Sherberts2's travel blog entry: "Thursday 13.5.10 We arrived on the fast train from Chengdu to Chongqing. This a new line and reduces the traveling time between the two big cities by half. The journey was very smooth and we reached speeds of 200km/hr but no faster. New lines are being right built across the country to improve traveling time. Although we enjoyed the journey it was not the same as traveling on the sleeper trains! Chongqing is a large sprawling city which is incredibly hilly. Although fairly warm it is depressingly miserable and overcast and very different from Xi'an. The mist hangs around and although you can see the sun's rays behind it just doesn't break through. If the weather cleared we would have a lovely view of the mountains. We are in a youth hostel opposite the River Yangtze - a room with a view but visibility is very poor. Each morning the mist is present some mornings better than others and we hope we will see the sun later which rarely happens although we have had a couple of very pleasant evenings. On one day the mist turned to a very fine drizzle which lasted all afternoon and then ended up being a very nice evening, but that is the only rain we have had here.
